Cooper Hosts Screening and Education Night for Evesham Fire Department

On June 13, 2022, Cooper University Health Care’s Population Health team hosted a screening and education night for the Evesham Fire Department. Twenty-five first responders from the county had their blood pressure taken and were screened for oral and skin cancer by physicians and team members from MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Following the screenings, Cooper physicians provided short presentations about health and safety-related topics. Fredric Ginsberg, MD, and Brett Waldman, MD, gave a presentation about cardiac issues among first responders. Robert Somer, MD, discussed prostate cancer; Jamin Morrison, MD, provided information about colorectal cancer; and David Shersher, MD, talked about how firefighters can protect their lungs on the job.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success.
