We appreciate your patience as we work to communicate the traffic impacts around the hospital campus due to ongoing construction at the intersection of Haddon Avenue and Newton Avenue. The construction at this intersection will continue through Monday, May 13, 2024.
To improve traffic flow and reduce congestion, one lane has been designated exclusively for Cooper team members and patients to gain access to the Sheridan Garage and Newton Lot. This lane, marked “Cooper Staff and Patient Parking Only,” permits passage through the roadblock located at the intersection of Haddon Avenue southbound and Washington Street, directly across from the Sheridan Circle entrance.
Here is what you need to know:
- Entry: As you approach the road closure, please reduce your speed and be prepared to display your Cooper badge to the officer on duty.
- Exit: Departure is only permitted onto Haddon Avenue northbound from these locations. When exiting the Sheridan Garage via the south driveway or the Newton Lot, there is a “right turn only” rule in effect.
- Open Route: Newton Avenue is now accessible from N. 10th Street to Haddon Avenue for those coming from Route 676.
Additionally, we have just been informed that construction near the Medical School Garage will begin this upcoming Monday. Further details will be provided shortly.
Please continue to follow the signage for road closures and detours, as the affected areas are subject to change. We recommend that you plan your travel accordingly and allocate extra time for your daily commute.
