Parenting Programs Available to All Employees

The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper and The Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at Cooper are offering several programs for parents in 2015.

Parenting the Love and Logic Way
Starting Thursday, January 22, 2015, “Parenting the Love and Logic Way” is offered in six sessions, led by Richard Selznick, PhD, of the Cooper Learning Center, and hosted at The Ripa Center in Voorhees, is dedicated to making parenting fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. Practical tools and techniques will help parents achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children. The series uses humor, hope and empathy; emphasizes respect and dignity for both children and adults; and teaches consequences and healthy decision-making. The series will introduce concepts reinforced by more than 30 years of successful outcomes from the Love and Logic Institute®.

This program is $60 per person.

Mother-Daughter Nights – Free
Starting Tuesday, January 27, 2015, and offered in four sessions, “Mother-Daughter Nights” at The Ripa Center are designed for moms and their “tweenage” girls to learn, bond and have fun together in an interactive environment. Experts from Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper will lead sessions (one per month) on adolescent change, healthy eating and self-image, self-defense and communication.

Facets of Dyslexia
The Cooper Learning Center presents this one-day, annual opportunity for parents and educators to network, hear from experts in the field and learn more about dyslexia and learning-related disabilities. CEUs are available for those who need them.
More than a dozen national and regional experts will share their knowledge and experiences about dyslexia and language-related disabilities. They will facilitate interactions and connections among conference attendees. Interactive panel discussions, breakout sessions, and an exhibitors’ fair and lunch sessions round out the conference.
