Fourth Annual Resident/Fellow Welcome Forum

Cooper University Hospital’s Fourth Annual Resident/Fellow Forum was held August 11 on the 10th floor of the Roberts Pavilion. Residents and Fellows in attendance represented 13 programs.

Information tables were provided by the GMEC, Sim Lab, CIRT, Pastoral Care, Planetree/Patient Centered Care, HR/Benefits, Research Institute, Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, Documentation and Coding, and Health Information Management.

Moderated by Antoinette Spevetz, MD, Designated Institution Official, the formal program included an introduction of Executive Management; comments by Carolyn E. Bekes, MD, Chief Medical Officer; and an update on the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, by Paul Katz, MD, Dean.

Paul Murray, Director of Security, detailed the 24/7 monitoring of the Cooper campus. John Schwarz, VP, Facilities and Support Services, outlined plans of the continuing campus expansion, including the new Cooper Cancer Center. William R. Graessle, MD, Assistant Medical Director, GME, concluded the program with an overview of the new ACGME Institutional and Program requirements that went into effect on July 1.

A light dinner buffet and desserts were provided by Cooper’s Food & Nutrition Department. Chef Jeff Klova prepared a creative menu featuring Mediterranean favorites.
