Cooper University Health Care has received the highest rating of the 51 participating hospitals in the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey network for quality and safety measures calculated by The Leapfrog Group. Noted physician and health policy innovator Jeffrey Brenner to receive honorary degree at Rutgers–Camden convocation on May 21, 2014

Brenner, MD, a primary care physician at Cooper Health whose efforts to improve the delivery of health care to the nation’s most impoverished citizens earned a MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship in 2013, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from Rutgers University–Camden during the campus’ Commencement and Honors Convocation ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

The selection of Brenner, who also will serve as Rutgers–Camden’s keynote speaker at the campus-wide ceremony, was confirmed by the Rutgers Board of Governors during its regular meeting in New Brunswick on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Read more.
