AmeriHealth New Jersey Expands Co-Branded Product Offering With Two Additional South Jersey Hospitals
AmeriHealth New Jersey has expanded its co-branded product offering with Cooper University Health Care to include Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center. The addition of Shore and Cape has expanded the product’s reach to also include Atlantic and Cape May counties, hence the plan’s new name: “Community Advantage.”
The initial co-branded product offering from AmeriHealth New Jersey and Cooper, called Cooper Advantage, became available in October 2013 and enrolled more than 11,500 members in the first six months. Read more.

Brenner Elected to Institute of Medicine
Jeffrey C. Brenner, MD, Medical Director of the Urban Health Institute at Cooper University Health Care and Executive Director of the Camden Coalition, has been elected to the prestigious Institute of Medicine (IOM). The IOM announced the names of 70 new members and 10 foreign associates during its 43rd annual meeting. Election to the IOM is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service. On Monday, September 22, 2014, representatives from Helen’s Angels presented physicians and staff from MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and the Cooper Foundation with a $10,000 check to support the Patient in Need Fund.
