Cooper University Hospital would like to congratulate Stephanie Wood, R.N., Trauma ICU, on the birth of her first child, Kayla. Kayla was born on October 19, 2010 on Cooper’s maternity unit weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces.

Milestone Met with Groundbreaking of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

The sounds of a choir could be heard for blocks as Cooper Medical School of Rowan University marked its official groundbreaking of the first four-year allopathic medical school in South Jersey. Honored guests including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, US Senator Robert Menendez, US Congressman Rob Andrews, NJ State Senate President Steve Sweeney, and Camden City Mayor Dana Redd helped mark the occasion with more than 200 civic, business and community leaders from throughout the state today.

Premiere Event Brings Awareness to Breast and Gynecologic Cancers

On Sunday, October 3rd, nearly 700 South Jersey women and their families and friends gathered to honor breast and gynecological cancer survivors and recognize those who were lost to these difficult diseases. The event also honored two physicians who treat local cancer patients at the Cooper Cancer Institute: breast surgeon Kristin L. Brill, MD, and gynecologic oncologist Thomas F. Rocereto, MD.

Prominent State Official Pays Tribute to Cooper Trauma for Saving His Life

Lee Solomon of Haddonfield, NJ, his family, friends and business associates from throughout New Jersey, including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, attended a fundraiser at Cooper University Hospital exactly one year after a bike accident almost took his life.

The Burlington County Times featured an article about the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute's free educational forum on concussions as a result of sports related injuries. The forum, which took place at Moorestown High School on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, focused on prevention and identification of concussions as well as available treatment options.

Cooper Doctors Urge Parents, Coaches and Athletes: Learn About Concussion Before It’s Too Late

Sports medicine professionals from the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute of Cooper University Hospital are advising parents, athletes and coaches to educate themselves about head injury and concussion before the start of the fall and winter sports seasons. They also recommend baseline brain function testing for all athletes prior to the season, and within days after a head injury.
