Study: ED Patients are Confident in CT Scans for Abdominal Pain

Several health web sites and magazines published an article about a study conducted in Cooper’s Emergency Department that found patients with non-traumatic abdominal pain express greater confidence in decision making when CT Imaging is included in the diagnostic evaluation.

World Aids Day Celebrated in Camden

The Courier-Post recently published an article about World Aids Day and the improvement in treatments over the past 30-years. “The options and changes in treatment for HIV-infected patients has vastly improved, from taking 12 to 24 pills three times a day to one pill a day,” said Pamela Gordon, program coordinator for Cooper's Early Intervention Program.

Mini-Whipple Among Medical Advances that Will Improve Healthcare for SJ Patients

The December issue of SJ Magazine features an article about four new advances in healthcare that are taking place at South Jersey hospitals. The mini-Whipple procedure is now being performed at Cooper to help treat patients with pancreatic cancer. Cooper physicians are hoping that this new variation will bring the same results as the old procedure but with fewer risks.

Third Year for Three Star Rating for Cooper’s Cardiac Surgery Program

Congratulations to the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cooper who has once again received a “3 star” rating, the highest possible quality ranking, from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Developed to provide a comprehensive nationwide system of cardiac surgery performance, only 12% of hospitals in the United States receive the highest category of quality rating, a “ 3 star” designation. This latest ranking marks the third consecutive year Cooper has received top honors as one of the best adult cardiac surgery programs in the United States.

Cooper Leads Study to Change Femoral Artery Cath Lab Access with New System Approach

This week, Pharmacy Choice published an announcement that patient enrollment has begun in the RECITAL (A Patient Registry Evaluating Closure Following Access with the Arstasis One Access System) Study. The non-randomized, prospective, post-approval study anticipates enrolling up to 500 patients in at least seven U.S. hospitals including Cooper.
