Cardiac Partners at Cooper and Inspira First in Region to Reach Heart Valve Device Milestone
Cardiac Partners Structural Heart team celebrated the 100th successful implantation of the lifesaving Mitral Clip. The Mitral Clip is a device for high-risk heart patients who have a severe form of leaky mitral valve disorder, called mitral regurgitation, and who were deemed too frail or sick to undergo open heart surgery. Thank you to First Harvest Credit Union for providing lunch for some of our hardworking team members on the frontlines this week. Members of Cooper’s Nursing Leadership team were on hand to greet Ernest Huggard, CPA, president and CEO of First Harvest (fourth from right) and Kenneth Barnshaw, senior vice president of external relations of First Harvest (far right), as they delivered the meals.
To help the community prevent the spread of COVID-19, Cooper University Health Care will provide 200,000 non-medical grade KN95 masks to be distributed throughout Camden with the assistance of the Camden County Metro Police and Sheriff’s Departments.
