Every year for the past nine years, Melvin Sheppard visits the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a special mission. Sheppard, now 16, was born nine weeks premature at Cooper in 1997 weighing only 2.9 pounds.

The Joint Commission’s Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® program recognizes accredited hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measure performance. The program is based on data reported in the previous year about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to be the best treatments for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke, venous thromboembolism, and immunization.

Accessible, convenient and affordable, the Cooper Urgent Care Center in Audubon joins the Cherry Hill office in providing medical care on a walk-in basis seven days a week. On Sunday morning, November 3, 2013, the historic Ben Franklin Bridge will close to allow more than five thousand runners and walkers to participate in this year’s Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event presented by AmeriHealth New Jersey. This year the event raised more than $412,000 and since 2001, has raised a staggering $2,718,247 for the school.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Woodstown (NJ) Junior Women’s Club presented the staff of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper with specially designed devices to help premature babies.

Team Cooper Shines at JDRF Diabetes Walk

The sun was bright but the 25-member Team Cooper was even brighter at the South Jersey JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, October 27. The team joined more than 6,000 walkers at the Susquehanna Bank Center to support juvenile diabetes awareness in the region. Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper also had a tent at the event, distributing materials and giving away noisemakers to children. Read more.
