(CAMDEN, NJ) – Cooper University Health Care has launched a Mobile Unit as part of its Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Program, designed to meet the unique health care needs of individuals with IDD. The innovative unit delivers high-quality, compassionate primary care directly to patients’ homes, community residences, and group homes across Southern New Jersey.

Developed in response to the growing demand for accessible, person-centered care, the Mobile Unit helps remove barriers that often make traditional office visits challenging for individuals with IDD. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Physicians Lead Multinational Critical Care Education Team in Africa

(CAMDEN, NJ) – For the fourth consecutive year, a multidisciplinary team led by physicians from Cooper University Health Care traveled to Africa from October 1 to 10 to provide advanced medical education in critical care. This year’s program expanded the team’s reach into Ethiopia and Tanzania, where the team conducted training sessions.

The initiative, known as AFRI(Crit), was organized by members of Cooper’s Division of Critical Care Medicine, and brought together physicians from Cooper University Health Care, Medstar-Washington Hospital Center, Kaiser Permanente, Geisinger, Thomas Jefferson University, George Washington University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Temple University. Subaru of America, Inc. has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the Camden community with a generous $30,000 donation to The Cooper Foundation. Now in its fourth consecutive year, this support—part of the automaker’s Subaru Loves to Care® initiative—helps eliminate barriers to care by providing durable medical equipment and reliable roundtrip transportation for patients served by Cooper University Health Care.

Cooper University Health Care Launches Clinical Trial for New, Less Invasive Treatment for Brain Condition Affecting Older Adults

Camden, NJ — Cooper University Health Care is now enrolling patients in a clinical trial for a new, less invasive treatment option for a condition called normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH)—a brain disorder that mostly affects people over the age of 65 that can cause walking difficulties, memory problems, and loss of bladder control.

The new procedure uses the eShunt® System, a small implant designed to drain excess fluid from around the brain without the need for traditional brain surgery. Read more.
