Halloween Safety

Halloween is one of the most anticipated nights of the year for kids, but Safe Kids’ research* shows some scary statistics on Halloween safety.

  • Only one-third of parents talk to their kids annually about Halloween, although three-quarters report having Halloween safety fears.
  • On average, twice as many child pedestrians are killed while walking on Halloween compared to other days of the year.

Norcross, III, Chairman of Cooper University Health Care, joined elected officials, representatives of Camden County College, Hopeworks ‘N Camden, and leaders of local agencies to announce the Cooper Health Careers Initiative (CHCI), a new education and job training program leading to employment, offered free of cost to eligible Camden residents.

Cooper University Health Care Named “NJ Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite”

In an effort to commend, celebrate and increase the number of NJ worksites that support breastfeeding employees, the New Jersey Breastfeeding Coalition (NJBC) selected  Cooper University Health Care  as a “NJ Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite.”

Cooper was recognized for important breastfeeding supportive practices including providing the availability of reasonable breaks to express milk or to nurse their child and access to a private space for expressing milk or nursing their child.   Read more.

Cooper University Health Care receives national recognition for meritorious outcomes in surgical care from The American College of Surgeons

Cooper University Health Care is one of 66 hospitals nationally recognized by The American College of Surgeons 2017 National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) for achieving meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care.  As a participant in ACS NSQIP, Cooper is required to track the outcomes of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and collect data that directs patient safety and the quality of surgical care improvements.
