(CAMDEN, NJ) — Cooper University Health Care has named Jamie Ritz, BSN, RN, of Blackwood, NJ, as the recipient of the William A. Schwartz, Jr. Nurse of the Year Award. Ritz, who works in Cooper’s Trauma Surgical ICU, also received the Award for Excellence in Trauma Nursing as part of Cooper’s Annual Nursing Excellence Awards presented during National Nurses’ Week (May 6-12). My Special Aflac Duck® helps comfort young patients managing their disease

CAMDEN, NJ, April 29, 2022 – Today, several young patients being treated for sickle cell disease at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper received a cuddly new companion specially designed to help them through their medical journey.  A duck delivery and unboxing event celebrated the new collaboration between Cooper and Aflac to provide a My Special Aflac Duck free of charge to all pediatric sickle cell patients ages 3 and above who are undergoing treatment. Cooper University Health Care and University Radiology Partner to Expand Radiology Services in Cherry Hill

(CHERRY HILL, NJ) – Cooper University Health Care and University Radiology, a leader in subspecialty medical imaging services in New Jersey, have joined in partnership to expand radiology services with a new imaging center in Cherry Hill.

For 16 Years, Divas for a Cure Has Been Raising Money to Benefit Cancer Patients

Divas For A Cure, a non-profit group of female motorcycle enthusiasts, visited MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper on Dec. 10 to present a check for $2,700, the proceeds of their annual fundraising efforts. Patient Story: Vincent Zoppina Celebrates Completing Cancer Treatment

On Monday, December 13, Vincent Zoppina joined his radiation oncologist, Gregory J. Kubicek, MD, on the Philadelphia side of the Ben Franklin Bridge to make the 2.5 mile trip to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in Camden for his last treatment for esophageal cancer. The trip was Vince’s idea to celebrate completing five weeks of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation therapy. Read more.

On December 1, 2021, the Cooper Infectious Disease and Early Intervention Program and Center for Healing teams collaborated with the Camden County Police Department to commemorate World AIDS Day with a community memorial walk and health fair in Camden. NJ Police Officer Returns to Cooper University Health Care to Thank Health Care Workers Following Battle with COVID-19

Lt. Antonio Ellis, a Manchester Township police officer, was among the first severe COVID-19 cases in New Jersey in mid-March 2020. After more than a year of recovery, Officer Ellis returned to Cooper University Health Care triumphantly on Monday, November 22 to thank the team of caregivers who saved his life.

More than 100 Cooper team members including the critical care doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for him during his long battle with COVID-19 greeted Officer Ellis and his wife, Carla, with celebratory cheers. Read more.

Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen and The Cooper Foundation Team Up with an Anonymous Donor to Provide 1,000 Turkeys to Camden Seniors and Families for Thanksgiving Holiday

In the spirit of giving, Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen and The Cooper Foundation will be joined by City Council members, community leaders, Camden corporate partners, the City’s Department of Human Services, staff and volunteers, as they look to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday by providing a total of 1,000 turkeys and turkey breasts to Camden senior citizens and families.
