Cooper University Health Care Earns National Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Quality Achievement Award for Efforts to Improve Stroke Treatment

By ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, Cooper University Health Care has received the following awards from the American Heart Association:

  • Gold Plus with Target: Stroke,
  • Target: Stroke Advanced Therapy, and:
  • Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.

First in South Jersey/ One of Only Seven in New Jersey to Achieve Gold Seal of Approval

Cooper University Health Care announced that it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Comprehensive Stroke Centers. The Gold Seal of Approval® and the Heart-Check mark represent hospitals with the highest level of stroke care and are symbols of quality from their respective organizations.  Read more.

For patients who need a new aortic valve but who are poor candidates for either surgery or transcatheter aortic-valve replacement (TAVR) through femoral-artery access, the Cooper Heart Institute now offers a new approach called transcaval TAVR.  Read more.

Cooper Receives Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award in Heart Failure from the American Heart Association

This award is given only to hospitals that achieve 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines Heart Failure Performance Achievement indicators to improve quality of patient care and outcomes. Cooper is the only hospital in the region to receive the Gold Plus achievement.

Cooper Receives Performance Achievement Award for Heart Disease and Stroke Care

(Camden, New Jersey) Cooper University Hospital is pleased to announce that it has received the Silver Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines Program for excellence in the management of heart failure. Heart Failure affects over five million Americans, accounting for more than one million hospital admissions each year. Hospitals in this program are recognized for using evidence-based guidelines in each of the categories Get With The Guidelines measures. Those hospitals marking 85 percent compliance for 12 consecutive months are given the Silver Performance Achievement award.
