RN Preceptor Workshop

The goal of this workshop is to provide a foundation for the nurse, critical care tech, and unit secretary to function as a preceptor for newly hired personnel at Cooper University Hospital. The program is designed to help preceptors understand the needs of both the experienced and new-to-the-work-force staff member during orientation. Topics covered include the role and responsibilities of a preceptor, individual learning styles, adult learning theory, effective evaluation and feedback, and conflict management. Methods for adapting an orientation to meet individual needs will also be explored.
