New Vendor for License Verification and Background Checks

Federal and State regulations require health institutions, such as Cooper, to perform pre-employment and monthly licensure verification as well as exclusion and background screening on all employees and medical staff members. This screening does not include credit history information.

Cooper has recently engaged a new screening vendor, Sterling Talent Solutions. Sterling employs a different process from that of Cooper’s previous vendor. Should Sterling’s screening identify public record information regarding you or any sanctions, exclusions, or actions concerning your professional license, Sterling will send you a notification via email. Sterling will then send Cooper a copy of this information.

Questions pertaining to public record information reported to Cooper should be directed to Sterling’s customer service at 888.889.5248. If you receive an email notification, an order number will be included to allow you to obtain information related to Sterling’s findings.

Questions regarding the regulatory sanctions and licensure process at Cooper should be directed to the Compliance Department at 856.968.7417 or reviewed in 12.109 – Exclusion and Sanction Screening Policy, Corporate. All other inquiries should be directed to your Human Resources Business Partner.
