COVID Testing Sites to Open Throughout County This Week

A partnership between Cooper, the Freeholder Board, and the Camden Coalition will oversee the sites

Cooper University Health Care in conjunction with the Camden County Freeholder Board, Camden County Health Department and the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers will open three new walk-up testing sites on Wednesday, December 9 in Camden City to provide additional testing capacity.  The three new sites will open in community schools throughout impacted zip codes in Camden City and will be easily accessible by foot, vehicle or public transportation. Cooper Air Medical Services Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

Cooper University Health Care’s Air Medical Services is celebrating its 10-year anniversary of service in South Jersey this month.

Cooper Air Medical Services launched on December 4, 2010. Since launching, Cooper Air Medical Services have provided lifesaving care to the community, transporting nearly 4,000 patients – 2,400 inter-facility transports, and more than 1,500 transports directly from a trauma location to the hospital. The Cooper Foundation and Cooper University Health Care Deliver Thanksgiving Meals to 1,900 Senior Citizens in Camden

Today, The Cooper Foundation and Cooper University Health Care spread some holiday cheer by helping numerous community leaders and volunteers deliver 1,900 Thanksgiving meals to senior citizens across the City of Camden who otherwise would not be able to get out and enjoy the holiday due to COVID.

Recognizing that seniors and others could not travel outside their homes, Cooper, community partners and others devised an innovative way to prepare and deliver meals in a safe manner, so that our most vulnerable could enjoy Thanksgiving in a COVID-safe environment. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Kicks-Off Holiday Season with Turkey Donations to Benefit Camden Residents

1000 turkeys distributed through network of community organizations

George E. Norcross III, chairman of the Board of Trustee at Cooper University Health Care announced that the health system has kicked-off the holiday season by donating 1,000 turkeys to community groups, faith-based organizations, and the South Jersey Food Bank to benefit Camden residents.

The turkeys were distributed on November 21 to a wide network of community groups for distribution to residents in need in time for Thanksgiving. Read more.

Cooper Employee Honored With Heroism Award for Saving Man’s Life

Yesenia “Yesi´ Santiago, a non-medical case manager for Cooper University Health Care’s Early Intervention Program (EIP), was honored with the Cooper Heroism Award for saving a man’s life in the community during the summer. Cooper Co-CEOs Kevin O’Dowd and Anthony Mazzarelli presented the award to Yesi during a recent ceremony.

“Cooper is fortunate and proud to have caring, committed employees like Yesi who go over and above for their fellow citizens,” said O’Dowd. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Partners With U.S. Navy for Anesthesia Residency Program

Cooper University Health Care has expanded its comprehensive military training program, one of the most extensive military training programs in the nation, by collaborating with the U.S. Navy to provide clinical rotations to Navy senior anesthesia medical residents.

The program will provide a two-month visiting clinical rotation for Navy senior anesthesia medical residents currently receiving their training at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia. Read more.
