Arriving via a patriotic flag run, a contingent of U.S. Navy SEALs and representatives from the GI Go Fund visited Cooper University Health Care on August 6 to thank frontline health care workers for their efforts during the pandemic. The SEALs delivered a 100 push-ups “SEALs Salute” on the front lawn of the hospital to honor Cooper’s team members for their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Read more.

Carman Ciervo, DO, has been named chief physician executive of Cooper Care Alliance (CCA), Cooper University Health Care’s community-based physician group.

Formed in 2020, CCA, a community-based physician group, is the health system’s second physician group along with the 800-member Cooper University Physicians (CUP) group, South Jersey’s largest physician group. Cooper University Health Care and the Philadelphia 76ers have teamed up to renovate and upgrade the basketball court at Dominick Andujar Park in Camden as part of a community partnership between the two organizations. The basketball court rebuild is one of a number of initiatives the two organizations have teamed up together to support families in the City of Camden.
