Cooper Center for Healing Recognizes Overdose Awareness Week 2022 and Remains Ever-Dedicated to Preventing Overdose and Supporting People Struggling with Substance Use and Substance Use Disorder

Overdose Awareness Week, recognized by the White House as the week during which International Overdose Awareness Day is memorialized (Wednesday, August 31), is a time of remembrance and recommitment to preventing overdose and supporting people struggling with substance use and substance use disorder (SUD) within our communities, state, and across the United States and worldwide.

During Overdose Awareness Week and year-round, the Cooper Center for Healing mourns for the lives lost to overdose in New Jersey and worldwide; acknowledges and addresses grief and trauma of patients, providers, and staff; and remains ever-dedicated to the center vision: that all patients struggling with pain, psychological trauma, and/or substance use have a home within the medical system and routinely receive compassionate, evidence-based medical treatment, allowing them to live full and satisfying lives. Cooper University Health Care to Hold ‘Back to School’ COVID-19 Family Vaccine Clinic

Free school supplies, refreshments, Mister Softee Ice Cream

Just in time for the new school year, Cooper University Health Care in cooperation with Camden County Department of Health is holding a free community-wide COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at its Camden Vaccination Center located at 300 Broadway (between MLK Boulevard and Stevens Street) in downtown Camden. Cooper Hero Award Presented to MRI Tech for

On August 4, 2022, MRI Tech Mike Beale was honored by executive leaders at Cooper University Health Care with the Cooper Heroism Award for  his heroic actions after witnessing an accident on his way to work last April.  Mike notice the man on the side of the road and stopped and performed CPR until police and emergency responders arrived. Following his heroic actions he reported to work for his overnight shift as normal. Read more.

New Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Wellness Location Opens in Haddonfield

Today, Cooper University Health Care announced that its new Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Wellness location at 100 Grove Street in Haddonfield is open.

Modeled on Cooper’s successful Ripa Center in Voorhees, the new center will offer primary care, gynecology, endocrine, cardiology, gastroenterology, and breast surgery (oncology) services geared especially for women.

Subaru of America, Inc. Visits Cooper University Health Care to Announce Donations as Part of the Loves to Care Program

This year’s donations to benefit patients with cancer, those managing chronic health conditions

As part of the Subaru Loves to Care program, representatives from Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) visited Cooper University Health Care recently to announce a number of donations to benefits Camden-based patients being treated at Cooper.

Subaru presented a check for $30,000 to purchase durable medical equipment – including blood pressure cuffs, glucometers, and scales – to help patients manage chronic health conditions at home and help prevent the need for emergency department visits or hospitalizations. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Participates in Clinical Study for the Treatment of Chronic Bronchitis

Wissam Abouzgheib, MD, chief of pulmonary medicine at Cooper University Health Care, is participating in a clinical study investigating a new device treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with chronic bronchitis. Cooper is the 20th site nationally participating in the study.

COPD is a long-term, progressive, irreversible lung disease that, over time, makes it difficult to breathe. Chronic bronchitis (CB), the largest subset of COPD, is characterized by a chronic productive cough. Read more.
