Recognition for a Good Catch

A good catch is when a staff member or provider identifies and stops a potential error before it impacts a patient. Cooper’s Good Catch Program helps staff learn from these “near miss” events and recognizes employees who play an integral part in preventing a potentially harmful patient safety event.

Cooper employees who witness a colleague making a good catch are encouraged to submit a nomination via the Event and Activity Reporting System (EARS). Enter the event and select “yes” next to “Nominate event for Good Catch Award,” then enter the name of the person you are nominating in the next field.

Good catch recipients will be recognized in Weekly Rounds and will also receive a personal thank you for promoting and maintaining patient safety at Cooper.
