Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper University Health Care opened a new pediatric outpatient infusion center which was made possible thanks to a $400,000 donation to The Cooper Foundation from the John E. Kostic Memorial Foundation.

“As the only state-designated acute care children’s hospital in South Jersey, Cooper provides exceptional pediatric primary care and comprehensive specialty care services for every patient, every day, in a patient- and family-centered environment,” said Adrienne Kirby, PhD, FACHE, Cooper’s president and chief executive officer. Cooper University Health Care in Camden and Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills were honored today by the New Jersey Hospital Association with the 2018 Community Outreach Award. The organizations were recognized in the category of enhancing access and quality of care to reduce disparities for developing HeroCare Connect, an innovative program to increase access to health care for veterans, active military, and their families. Advanced Practice Nurse Joins Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at Cooper

The Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at Cooper is expanding services with the addition of a new primary care provider. Marianne Alexander, RN, MSN, APN, an advanced practice nurse (APN) with more than 41 years of experience in emergency and family medicine, is now accepting new patients.

The Cooper Foundation Receives $982,000 Grant for Cooper Urban Health Institute Project Targeted at Reducing Disparities in Cardiovascular Care in Vulnerable Populations

The Cooper Foundation has received a $982,000 grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation to support the work of Cooper University Health Care’s Urban Health Institute. These funds will support a new initiative – Reducing Disparities in Cardiovascular Care through Optimization of Risk Factors in Vulnerable Populations – that will provide behavior change support, focus attention on social determinants of health, connect patients to community resources, and enhance medication adherence with the help of an interdisciplinary team. Cooper University Health Care Receives Accreditation From the Urgent Care Association of America

Cooper University Health Care, which operates three urgent care centers in the South Jersey region, has received the highest level of distinction from the Urgent Care Association of America.

The Accredited Urgent Care designation certifies that Cooper —  with centers located in Cherry Hill, Audubon, and Cinnaminson, NJ —  has met all of the Urgent Care Association of America’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services. Read more.

American Cancer Society Recognizes MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper was recently recognized by the American Cancer Society (ACS) for our collaboration in furthering our shared mission to eliminate cancer and improve the lives of those diagnosed with cancer through our research, advocacy, support, and patient programs efforts.

In 2017, MD Anderson Cooper partnered with ACS on many cancer prevention and education programs including:

  • 80% by 2018 Program – an initiative designed to improve colorectal cancer screening rates in our communities through coordinated leadership, strategic planning, advocacy and access to colorectal cancer screening services.

Last week, Rowan University’s Board of Trustees committed $50 million over ten years to significantly enhance medical and bioscience research at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) in the City of Camden. Cooper University Health Care’s Board voted today committing to a collaborative effort to build a first-rate medical research program focused on recruiting top research and clinical faculty to develop breakthrough medical cures and treatments.
