Kennedy Ganti, MD, FAAFP, FHELA, a primary care physician at Cooper University Health Care and assistant professor of medicine at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University, was recently appointed as the 229th president of the Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ). On May 25, Cooper University Health Care trauma surgeon John Chovanes, DO, FACS, was presented with The Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Army for the establishment of the Army Medical Department Military-Civilian Trauma Team Training (AMCT3) program at Cooper and his selfless devotion to soldiers and unparalleled dedication to mission accomplishment. Cooper University Health Care’s Structural Heart Disease Program Performs 1000th TAVR Procedure

The multidisciplinary team of cardiac experts from Cooper University Health Care’s Structural Heart Disease Program recently performed the 1000th TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) procedure. The procedure was successfully performed on a 71-year-old South Jersey man.

Cooper University Health Care Administers 10,000th COVID-19 Vaccination at KROC Center
On Saturday, May 22, Cooper University Health Care celebrated the 10,000th COVID-19 vaccination given at the Cooper Community Vaccination and Education site located at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Camden, NJ. Camden resident Jose Palma was the recipient of the 10,000th shot and received a gift bag in recognition of the milestone.
The event featured free food distribution, Mister Softee® ice cream, a variety of clinical health screenings, giveaways, and Q&A sessions to answer vaccination questions. Read more.
