Colonoscopies Save Lives

Colorectal cancer almost always develops from abnormal growths (polyps) in the colon or rectum. A colonoscopy can find polyps, so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Colonoscopy also can find colorectal cancer early, when treatment works best.

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and the American Cancer Society recommend that average-risk men and women begin colorectal cancer screenings at age 50. Read more.

Cooper Doctor First to Perform Innovative Treatment for Compression Fracture in the Back

Cooper University Health Care recently became the first hospital in South Jersey to perform a new minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). The Kiva® VCF Treatment System, the first new approach to the treatment of VCFs in more than a decade, significantly reduces pain and helps restores function to patients.

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Receives a $35,000 Grant to Support Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper received a $35,000 grant from the Avon-Pfizer Metastatic Breast Cancer Grants Program: Identify-Amplify-Unify. MD Anderson Cooper was one of only 22 non-profit organizations to receive a grant to support and educate metastatic breast cancer patients, their caregivers, and their communities.

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Opens New Dedicated Inpatient Oncology Unit

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper is expanding its services with the opening of a new inpatient oncology unit at Cooper University Hospital. The new, specialized 30-bed, all private-room unit on the 5th floor of the Roberts Pavilion will replace Cooper’s existing oncology inpatient unit and will begin accepting patients in early July.
