Cooper Donates $10,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper participated in the annual CBS3 “Change the Luck of a Child” fundraiser to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities by making a $10,000 donation and answering pledge calls.  These efforts helped to raise $1.2 million for the organization, which serves as a home away from home for families with a child in the hospital.

Be a Safe Driver – Motor Vehicle Deaths Up in 2016

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

As more Americans are getting behind the wheel, there has also been a sharp increase in the number of fatal accidents on the road.  The National Safety Council (NSC) this week released a new report indicating that the number of fatalities due to crashes is up six percent in 2016 from the previous year. New Jersey Becomes First US State with Universal Baby Box Program to Provide a Safe and Supported Start in Life for Every Child

Expecting mothers who complete an online education program in New Jersey will get a free baby box. Cooper University Healthcare hospital helped develop the Baby Box University syllabus for New Jersey parents and is hosting a special Baby Box launch event today at Roberts Pavilion Lobby.

Children’s Book Author Reads to Pediatric Patients at Cooper

(Camden, NJ) — Pediatric patients at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper enjoyed a special story time on November 22, 2016. Local author Lori Samlin Miller read from her recently published children’s book, Stay Where I Can See You. The Cooper Foundation provided copies of the book for all the children on the unit.

As a wife, mother, teacher, writer, and volunteer at Cooper University Health Care, Lori Samlin Miller is a strong supporter of children’s literacy. Read more.

Squad Credits Trauma Efforts for Saving Boy’s Life

Two weeks ago, 2-year-old Dominick Garcia was critically injured after falling from a second-story window. Today, he is expected to make a full recovery thanks to Cooper Air Two helicopter service and Cooper University Hospital.

Local School Nurses, Athletic Coaches Tap Into Learning from the Experts at Cooper

Over the decades, school nurses, athletic trainers and coaches have had to expand their technical and educational skills to handle new and increasingly complicated health issues facing children today. Some of these conditions include: diabetes, child obesity, sleep disorders and ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). The Nurses Education Series offers training from Cooper physicians to provide useful information and resources to this core group of community care givers.
