Congratulations to R. Phillip Dellinger, MD, senior critical care attending at Cooper University Health Care, Director of the Cooper Research Institute, and Professor of Medicine and Distinguished Scholar at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) for receiving the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Lifetime Achievement, Clinical Excellence Award. Dr. Dellinger was among 14 individuals and organizations honored for exemplary service to the people of New Jersey during the COVID-19 pandemic at an awards ceremony July 15. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Closes COVID-19 Testing Site in Cherry Hill With a Celebration and Tribute to Health Care Workers

As COVID-19 cases continue to decline,  Cooper University Health Care closed its COVID-19 testing site on the campus of Camden County College in Cherry Hill with a celebration and tribute honoring the dedicated health care workers who have worked tirelessly for 16 months to provide testing services to the community.

When the first wave of COVID-19 began impacting South Jersey in March 2020, Cooper quickly responded by establishing numerous community-based testing sites in the region. Read more.

The Cooper Foundation Raises $130,000 at Inaugural Cooper Cup Golf Outing

The Cooper Foundation announced that it raised $130,000 at the Inaugural Cooper Cup Golf Outing held June 28 at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

More than 140 golfers attended the sold-out event held during Men’s Health Month, which focuses on raising awareness of preventable health problems and encourages early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. Read more.

Subaru Loves Cooper University Health Care Subaru Presents Gift Card Bundles as Part of Loves to Care Philanthropic Program

Representatives from Subaru of America, Inc. presented “thank you” care bundles to support departments at Cooper University Health Care and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper for their outstanding efforts during the pandemic.

Nearly 950 team members in the Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition, Transport, Security and Maintenance departments, along with staff members at MD Anderson at Cooper, received a care package containing numerous gift cards to local retail stores and restaurants as well as transportation vouchers. Cooper University Health Care Launches Season 2 of Award-Winning Stories in Care Video Series Detailing the COVID-19 Pandemic Through Frontline Health Care Workers

Stories in Care, Cooper University Health Care’s riveting and emotional video series highlighting the COVID-19 experiences of its frontline workers, won a coveted Gold Award in the 42nd Annual Telly Awards, which recognizes  the best work created in video and television across all screens. Stories in Care was one of 12,000 Telly Award submissions this year.

Told in emotional, first-person accounts, Stories in Care captures the triumphs and tragedies and recollections of health care workers through one of the nation’s most pressing public health crises in decades. Read more.

Recognizing Health Care’s Risk Management Professionals

In honor of Health Care Risk Management Week, from June 21 through June 25, 2021, Cooper University Health Care recognizes the critical role that our health care risk management professionals play in patient safety, patient care practices, quality assurance, safe work environments, and the prevention of liability issues.

Established in 1980 by the American Society for Health Care Risk Management, this week of recognition promotes solutions to help prevent some of the most common patient safety events.

Cooper Neurosurgeon Dr. Corey Mossop Promoted to Rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army

Cooper University Health Care’s Division of Military, Diplomatic, and Field Surgical Affairs was honored to help celebrate the promotion of Dr. Corey Mossop to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Dr. Mossop, a native of Pennsauken, NJ,  is a neurosurgeon embedded at Cooper as part of the Army Military Trauma Team Training (AMCT3) Program at Cooper.

In 2019, Cooper became the first hospital in the nation to establish the AMCT3 program. Read more.
