Internal Medicine Specialist Joins Cooper’s Willingboro Office

Camille P. Green, MD, an internal medicine specialist, has joined Cooper University Health Care and is now seeing patients at the Cooper Internal Medicine Office at 651 JFK Boulevard in Willingboro.

Dr. Green, who received her medical degree from UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Cooper University Hospital, Camden. Read more.

American Cancer Society, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper unite elected officials and South Jersey community leaders in the fight against colorectal cancer

Leaders sign pledge for national “80% x 2018” colorectal cancer screening campaign.

With a swipe of a pen, South Jersey community leaders made history today as they announced their commitment to implement changes within their individual organizations that will increase colorectal cancer screening in Camden and surrounding areas.

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 135,000 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the United States this year, and over 50,000 will die from the disease. Read more.

Cooper Trauma Center Provides $10,000 for Purchase of Tourniquets For Camden County Police Department as Part of “Stop the Bleed” Education and Training

The Trauma Center at Cooper University Health Care recently purchased $10,000 worth of tourniquets which will be distributed to all officers in the Camden County Police Department in conjunction with specialized bleeding control training they received from Cooper’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team.

Since it began operation in January 2016, Cooper EMS has been offering a Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) course for police, fire, and school personnel as part of its community outreach efforts.  Read more.

Avon Breast Health Outreach Program Awards Grant to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

The Avon Breast Health Outreach Program has awarded a $37,000 one-year grant to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper’s Camden County Cancer Screening Project (CCCSP) to increase awareness of the life-saving benefits of early detection of breast cancer. It is the tenth year that the program has received funding from the Avon Foundation for Women to support its work on this important health issue, and in recognition of the program’s excellence. Expecting mothers who complete an online education program in New Jersey will get a free baby box. Cooper University Healthcare hospital helped develop the Baby Box University syllabus for New Jersey parents and is hosting a special Baby Box launch event today at Roberts Pavilion Lobby.

Cooper University Health Care Delivers on Promise to Improve EMS Services to City of Camden

In 2016, Cooper EMS responded to nearly 10 percent more calls and responded within eight-minutes on more than 90 percent of ALS calls meeting a national benchmark. In addition, Cooper EMS provided additional community outreach, education, and training services to local residents and emergency professionals.

Cooper Honors PCU Nurse with DAISY Award

(Camden, NJ)  — Cooper University Health Care recently recognized Caitlin Oshea, RN, of Garnet Valley, Delaware County, Pennsylvania with the DAISY Award for providing exceptional nursing care.

Caitlin, a nurse on Cooper’s Progressive Care Unit, was nominated by the wife of a patient who described her as very caring, empathetic, and supportive. “Caitlin showed extraordinary compassion,” the patient’s wife said. “I felt good knowing she was taking care of him, she went above and beyond to give him his dignity back.” Read more.

Cooper Doctor First to Perform Innovative Treatment for Compression Fracture in the Back

Cooper University Health Care recently became the first hospital in South Jersey to perform a new minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). The Kiva® VCF Treatment System, the first new approach to the treatment of VCFs in more than a decade, significantly reduces pain and helps restores function to patients.
