October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness for detection, treatment, education, and research of breast cancer, as well as programs to support those affected by this disease.

This month, Dr. Anthony Dragun, Chairman and Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, is participating in the Real Men Wear Pink initiative of the American Cancer Society. Read more.

DRPA and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Team Up to Turn the Ben Franklin Bridge Teal in September in Recognition of Ovarian Cancer Month

Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper are teaming up to turn the Benjamin Franklin Bridge teal in September for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

“The purpose of the lighting is to raise awareness about ovarian cancer,” said Generosa Grana, MD, FACP, director of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.”

Donations of blankets and messages of hope are part of ‘Subaru Loves to Care’ initiative

What: Subaru of America and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) are working together to provide much needed support and “warmth” to cancer patients and their families in communities across the country as part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative.

Executives from Subaru of America’s corporate headquarters and LLS will deliver those messages and 100 specially made blankets to inpatients at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Read more.

Cooper Congratulates MD Anderson Cancer Center on #1 Cancer Hospital Ranking

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is once again ranked the nation’s top hospital for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals” survey. Since the survey began in 1990, MD Anderson has been named one of the top two cancer hospitals, and it has ranked first 13 times in the last 16 years.

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, which partnered with the world-renown institution in October 2013, is one of seven clinically integrated partner institutions in the United States. Read more.

Cooper Foundation Receives $2.2 Million Donation to Fund Cell Research

The Cooper Foundation has received a gift of $2.2 million to fund specialized research at Cooper University Health Care to explore the role of a unique line of cells in certain cancers, wound healing, and vision. The donation will also facilitate expansion of basic science research at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
