Cooper Program Promotes Anti-Bullying Message in Advance of Nationwide Movie Release

On November 17, 2017, WONDER, a major motion picture based on the New York Times bestseller by R.J. Palacio of the same name, will be released in theaters nationwide. WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters a mainstream elementary school for the first time.  The overall theme of the book and movie is acceptance of others despite differences and the importance of choosing kindness. Adventure Aquarium Mermaids Visit Children’s Regional Hospital

Miram and Echo, mermaids from Camden’s Adventure Aquarium, stopped by the outpatient office of Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper on November 2, 2017. The mermaid pair enjoyed a meet and greet with young patients, their families, and staff, as well as read some underwater-themed books to the young patients.

New Teen Lounge Opens at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper

The Cooper Foundation, in partnership with the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation and the Ravitz Family Foundation, today celebrated the opening of the new Teen Lounge at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper.

“This new Teen Lounge is designed to be a special place for our adolescent patients, where they can take a break from their hospital stay, have fun and meet others their own age who can relate to what they are going through,” said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of The Cooper Foundation.  Read more.

Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper Hosts Holiday Parties for Patients and Families

On Monday December 15 and Tuesday December 16, Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper hosted their annual holiday celebrations for outpatient visitors to their Voorhees and Camden locations. In addition to visits with Santa (aka pediatrician Bill Sharrar, MD, who has played Santa for several years), children were treated to age-appropriate gifts and refreshments. United Airlines Makes Special Delivery to Pediatric Patients at Cooper

On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, United Airlines employees delivered some very special cargo to young patients at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. Each child on the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care units received a new fuzzy friend named “Ben Flyin” as part of United’s community outreach efforts.

Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper Makes Great Strides for March of Dimes Walk

More than 50 dedicated Team Cooper members from around Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper (and friends and family members) joined together on Sunday, April 27, 2014, to walk Camden County's “March for Babies.” Sponsored by the New Jersey March of Dimes, the walk raises money to help the March of Dimes ensure healthy starts for premature infants. The combination of bake sales, a raffle basket auction, and personal donations helped Team Cooper raised nearly $5,000 to support this worthy cause in 2014.

Team Cooper Makes Strides at Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

Walkers from across the Department of OB/GYN, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper and more joined together to participate in the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia, held at Challenge Grove Park in Cherry Hill on Saturday, May 3, 2014.  The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™ supports the mission of the Preeclampsia Foundation to provide patient support and education, raise public awareness, catalyze research and improve health care practices for millions of mothers and their babies every year who are impacted by preeclampsia and related hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Cooper Learning Center Hosts Regional Dyslexia Learning Conference

On Saturday May 3, 2014, Cooper Learning Center, part of the Children's Regional Hospital at Cooper, hosted a regional conference on dyslexia and language-related disabilities. Over 125 parents and educators from across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware came together to explore these topics at "Facets of Dyslexia," held at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford.
